Sarvban; Guardian of Iran's Agriculture
From idea to complete agricultural ecosystem — a story of persistence, innovation and service to farmers
Roots of an Adventure
Our story began when, after experiencing national and organizational projects, we entered the world of agriculture. After deep research, we realized that almost no one had seriously tackled the agricultural sector, which faced countless challenges. Since we thrive on solving challenges, we chose the biggest one: the market.
Many insisted: 'You can't do it!' But our answer has always been: 'If government agencies can't, and traditional agricultural players can't either — then who can?! This has been done in many countries with worse conditions than ours, so we can too. The first step is wanting it to happen.'
Along the way, we joined forces with a group of dedicated, hardworking people (Talashgaran Sustainable Economy Holding) who were also aware of agricultural industry challenges and had been disheartened for years. This union gave birth to Sarvban.

What Does Sarvban Do?
We provide marketing, market-making and market-access services for agricultural products. Simply put: we find buyers who are looking for a product and previously bought through multiple intermediaries, and deliver the product directly from farm to them. We also create markets for products that previously had none.

The Sarv (Cypress) Symbol: Persistence & Freedom
The Sarv (Cypress) Symbol:
We chose the name 'Sarv' from the cypress tree — a symbol of ancient Iran known for its steadfastness. The cypress stands tall and unyielding against storms. 'Ban' means guardian and protector, and is also a fragrant tree species (wild jasmine). Sarvban is the guardian that remains standing, green, and in service to Iran's agriculture.
The word 'Sarvban' has been inherited from a village named 'Ban Sarv' from the functions of Lorestan province, which has 3300-year-old Sarv trees! This village has Sarp trees with a history of 3300 years.
'Sar' has been an emblem of ancient Iran and a symbol of the Iranian people, which can be seen extensively in curtains, carpets and other arts of Iran. Sar stands upright unlike pine trees.
Sar trees have been planted in Iran for thousands of years and one of the ancient specimens of this tree, Sar Qasmer, is believed to have been planted by Zoroaster. This tree remains an evergreen and stable tree even in cold weather.
The word 'Ban' is also used as a guardian and protector, and is also a type of fragrant tree (a kind of bademshak).
